The best games could possibly be made in a world where we're really modeling human dynamics, social dynamics. But it requires some degree of player understanding that our current educational system and just shared knowledge base don't really support. In Conan's case, the problem is that Conan from its beginning was always intended to be a very combat oriented game. If your whole point is to murder everything, maybe you don't need to understand their underlying psychological situation.
