I don't know whether it's just another buzzword or something that's here to stay, but I definitely see the CRO role growing and appearing more and more. The people who are in that role have 99% of the time come from sales and they don't actually understand marketing,. They're usually older white men. And I think there's a lot of ego and hubris involved.
