Is the Parent's Desire for a Relationship With the Child an Outlier?

Research shows that the majority of the time if there's an estrangement, it's the adult child who does it. Parents are much more motivated to see the relationship as being better than the adult child. But I do see adult children who want the relationship with the parent and the parent won't have a relationship with the child.
