How to Calculate Heart Rate Zones for Training

I have previously fallen into the trap of not taking my easy runs easy and just trying to go full pelt all the time. My heart rate for an easy run should be around 60% maximum, which for me is 107 beats per minute. I've tried using perceived effort, but these are mostly based on conversational pace. Are there any other ways that you would recommend structuring different paced runs for training? Or let me know if I'm doing something wrong in calculating heart rate zones.
