How to Deal With a Disappointment
I don't recommend running from your feelings, because our typical avoidance methods are usually unhealthy. Our feelings can help us practise some great self regulation and improve that aspect of our executive function. Plus we can also practise flexible thinking. So when you or your child feels disappointed, pause so that you can keep with that initial this will also help you not spiral like we tend to do. Sometimes you can say the thought out loud or in your mind, i feel disappointed,. Because sometimes that's enough, and it will help your thought stay chill.
