Is Collagen Increasing as We Get Older?
Collagen is the most common protein in your body. The rate at which we make it over time as we get older goes down. That's why our skin loses some of the shape and becomes a little bit more wrinkly. Lack of sleep gives you a decrease in growth hormone. Lower growth hormone, it means lower IGF-1 which results in a decrease in collagen accumulation within the tissue.
