i like to open my email at the beginning of the day and triage things. Don't reply to anything that takes more than a couple of minutes, or a couple of lines. i view emal as people can send me things and i have to respond to them. This is now a to do lists that other people can write on. They have no discretion on how you ito spend your time. That's probably the healthiest approach to emal that you can take.
