The Importance of Adaptation

In order to receive a health benefit from exercise, we have to match our training load with the recovery that we have available. There are generally two types of stress: U-stress and distress. Good stress is stress that when met with appropriate recovery spurs an adaptation. If you don't have the resources to run five days per week, but you do it anyways, that's not going to be beneficial for you in the short, medium or long term.
