Don't Beat Yourself Up for Being Self Critical

Self-criticism is a natural response when we feel threatened or trying to be safe. We shouldn't judge ourselves for being self critical, it's generally not very effective. Cri ers n natural first step: accept yourself as you are and have compassion towards yourself. Research shows that this can change the tenor of your relationship with yourself. It also makes you less overwhelmed by negative emotions. You're more able to cope. And some people are wired differently than others.
