The Importance of Feeding the Gut Bacteria
Fiber is my definition of a malabsorption type syndrome. So I don't think you want it because let's have a think about this. If you feed the bacteria they ferment the energy, the substrate you provide them and they produce gas. Now depending on where abouts in the colon you produce your gas that's going to be quite uncomfortable,. That's the whole premise of bloating that we see with fiber. The reason being that the protein tends to get fermented right in the distal colon.
