The world has gotten more complicated, but it's not a bad goal to often ask people. It really is a mark of you deeply understanding the problem when you can get it down to something that seems trivial to the next person who looks at it. If you don't know what the machine is capable of, you can't even answer that question. Without knowing what the tools you have are capable of, I just don't know how you answer that question and when you stop digging, so to speak.
