The Evolution of Roguelikes
When Toe Jemmeril was made in 1991, there were no other roguelikes that term didn't exist yet. And even back then, you know, the game was was supposed to be and was designed to be accessible. We wanted to make it a family game, easy to play for any age. But as to whether or not how essential that is as a core element for roguelikes, I don't actually have a whole lot to say about that.
