Knowledge for Teachers

CHAPTER

Comparative Judgment Assessment

When you take part in a comparative judgment assessment 80% of the time you'll be judging writing from your school. Every fifth judgment the writing is for other schools and then when you're finished you know you can go into the system to review it again. We would say where possible if you can try and judge at the same time as your colleagues or schedule a staff meeting that always works well. When you finish your judging quota have a discussion about the strengths and weaknesses of the work that you've seen and then the class teacher should aim to re-teach the next lesson based on those strengths and weaknesses.
