Intergenerational trauma refers to trauma that is passed down from a trauma survivor to their descendants. It can also be referred to as multi-generational trauma. People experiencing intergenerational trauma experience trauma a little bit differently. And in a very similar vein, research has now been done into this idea of collective trauma. There are now discussions that the pandemic in itself could actually be classified as a form of collectively trauma.
This week we discuss trauma in childhood, the way it effects our brain and chemistry, our behaviours and our relationships in adulthood.
