Are We Still Active Agents and Active Users in the Learning Process?

Are we still an active agent and active part in the learning process? Or are we taking a backseat because why not? Right? The Internet does all the thinking and almost like all the storing and everything for us. So at what point do we still take that active role or give up that active role and become what is passive information, you know, input user? And that's when it becomes a little bit tricky.
