If you've had a heart attack stroke or diabetes, your LDL needs to be under 70. For every 38 point reduction in LDL, you have your cardiovascular risk cut in half. Me personally, I would want most people under 100 and then the more higher risk people that middle group under 80 and then the highest risk group under 60. That would be my personal preference. But of course, it's hard convincing the American Heart Association and all these organizations like the American Diabetes Association, everyone to like lower targets.
