Alcoholism and codependency is generally thought of in this reductive sense of of enabling alcoholic behavior which is essentially when something stops being a choice. I feel like we need new terminology because when you say alcoholism you immediately think of alcohol but alanan might be addicted to the chaos created by that alcohol. addicts just I guess has been used for so long as a negative term and I believe that addicts have superpowers and are usually hyper vigilant just very smart. You can't get away with your alcoholic baby you're not wildly smart you know you have to be crafty and cagey to keep it under control.
