The NHMIC Report on the Dietary Guidelines for Vegans

The George Institute for Global Health teamed up with the World Health Organization. The report set out to review the salt levels of mock meat and other plant-based foods. High sodium intake is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Most Australian adults consume double this per day at around 10 grams of salt per day. That's less than a teaspoon of salt a day, which is incredibly hard to tease out when it's hidden in foods.
