The Glauth Revolution became a kind of ideal, which could be wheeled in to attack those who held power. The ideas of liberty and property that dominate mainstream political debate are not the same as ones held by radical wigs like John Locke. There continues to be throughout the 18th century a stream of criticism which looks to the revolution as having in some sense been unfulfilled.
