Monsieur Caron proposed a capsule-shaped container that passengers would sit inside on seats with a sprung base to protect them when they impacted. The ride was never made, but it has since been shown that maybe it would have been thrilling, but the passengers would have met their most certain death at the bottom. But understanding free-fall vertical drops and how they thrillers is big money. It's related to the commerce of creating and delivering thrilling experiences.
