The fit people always had a much better mortality rate than the unfit people in both overall deaths and cardiovascular deaths. The most scientific way is test to do with your, the maximum amount of oxygen that you can use during exercise. And if you can get up to certain levels, then you are considered fit. Other times, they will kind of ask you to record how much exercise you do, and whether it's moderate or vigorous during the week.
