I have reduced the number of exercises that we use radically because I saw the effects of watering down a strength program with exercise variety in CrossFit. What we are doing at this point in time is for the vast majority of people we use six exercises. Vast majority people squat, we press, we bench press, we deadlift, we clean and we do chins - that's all. We've started looking at strength training not from the standpoint of what's available to use in the gym but from the viewpoint of how basic human movement patterns could be done bilaterally with a load.
