As freshmen at MIT, you and your friends had great trouble understanding the difference. The reason we didn't understand the difference in digital and analog computers is because it was sort of a fundamental in engineering. Digital, well, nobody taught digital in those days. So we didn't know what was going on, but they both use the same word computer. And analog computers are far more powerful than any of it.
