High Anchoring Makes Deals Go Away
Extreme anchoring is strongly advocated by almost all of my academic brethren. High anchoring is a really great way to make potential deals vanish. And I regret it each and every time because it makes deals go away. Those that survive will be a much better deal for you. Short term gain is very good. Long term loss is very high.
