You Don't Stop a Train From Wrecking, You Get Out of the Way
If so much good can come out of this pain stimulus response mechanism that teams have, you got to be careful not to deprive the people on your team of that stimulus. And it is a very hard thing to sit there and let yourself do because everything within you tells you that you should intervene. One of the best pieces of advice i ever got was, you don't stop a train from wrecking, you get out of the way. Ah, in this particular situation, it was a very uncomfortable thing that needed to happen in order for that to work.
