The food system has been globalized and there's a national highway system, foraged foods are not necessary to survival. In the cities, i think it's often kind of a novelty or a token way to connect with the seasons without really going too deep. I mean, you can find wild edible plants in tokio. But there's a lot of plants that have a certain cultural importance that you will need to stray a little bit further into the mountains or into the rural areas to find.
