How Does Ketamine Work as an Anti-Depressant?

The standard antidepressant dose of ketamine for an intravenous administration administered over 40 minutes is a half a milligram per kilogram or 35 milligrams. If you give it orally, you have to give quite a bit more to get the same blood levels. Dissociative symptoms were associated with their clinical improvement in different groups of patients. And there are people who have built intolerance to the effects of ketamine who just don't experience much in the way of dissociation with traditional antidepressant doses of ketamine.
