Randal's hypothesis was worked out in diaphragm and heart it then spread to skeletal muscle. Mike Renny working in john hollsies laboratory who did the first study with profused rat hind quarters. The glucose that randal's glucose fatty acid cycle does operate within skeletal muscle as well.
