Homo Sapiens Want to Get Along and Get Ahead

In the millions of years in which our brains were being designed by evolution, we were living in mostly mobile hunter gatherer bands. And so our brains are still specialized for the stone age. We haven't involved significantly, or if at all, con since then. But once you're in that group, you know, most aren't satisfied sort of lolling about on the bottom rungs of their social group. They want to get ahead; they want to be respected and admired. So this isn't anythingt we should feel bad about, because it's human nature. It's who we are.
