How Do We Get Students to Do Good Things?
Every class I begin with a no to low stakes quiz. It's first when the students pass the quiz, obviously they're learning from engaging with the quiz because if you get something correct, recall it from them and you'll learn better. But also for my larger intro to cog class, all of my questions are multiple choice questions. And what I do is I give them that opportunity at the beginning of every class just for them to experience how difficult,. in fact, a well written multiple choice question can do.
