The loss function is just in terms of which computational universe you're actually in and what you know about the computational universe. You could try to to have loss functions that care directly by the physical state but that quickly runs into the same problems that you were trying to solve. The kind of radical answer that physicalist agents have or like at least kind of purest physicalist agents they say no we're just going to be computationless. We don't care directly about physical fingers we only care about computations.
