With DBT it's you know zen mindfulness meets cognitive behavior therapy. I try to teach people how to regulate the natural fear that comes with accepting that reality is gray ambiguity scares people so that's why they push it to a pole of definitely being right or whatever. We all have to find the behaviors that match our values regardless of how emotionally activated we are most everybody can choose a decent behavior when they're calm but when they're off their own baseline all kinds of impulsive behaviors that cause messes can happen.
