It depends, it really depends on the manager and the type of relationship. If you're in a work place culture that's characterized by trust and psychological safety then i think it's very important to communicate this. And actually, they may be not only supportive, but actually going through it themselves. That can deepen the relationship.
Working long hours won’t necessarily burn us out, but getting too little sleep or feeling unappreciated might.
