Radiation and Cytopenia
The more bone marrow you radiate, the higher the risk of causing a cytopenia. For most patients, it is not going to be the radiation itself that is going to be causing the site of pinnias or the immune suppression. More often, it's caused by the chemotherapy that's given concurrently with radiation.
