The ancient Greeks saw humans as having four primary emotional states. One was the bittersweet sort of melancholy state that my book is about. One is anger, which they called being choleric. One was being super cheerful, that was being sanguine and then the other was calm and they called that phlegmatic. So basically in our culture, we're only comfortable with two of those four emotional states,. And the cheerful and the angry one are ones are the two that social media amplify.
