The SIFT method of sitting with the emotions and trying to identify sensations, images, feelings and thoughts popping up. There are also some techniques that therapists use like EMDR which involves moving your eyes around back and forth while bringing up these emotions. In any case, there are some things to try here because I don't know about you but for me just reading this already had emotions stir up.
