The Role of the Major Arteries in Cortical Strokes
The ACA or anterior cerebral artery provides blood flow to the portion of the homunculus that really innervates the lower extremities. You can also have perforating or penetrating vessel in FARCs. Lacunar strokes are often absent because they're only hitting a very focal area of sub-cortical white matter. And associated symptoms, you'd be looking for cortical signs and cranial nerve deficits.
