Powerlifting Strength Is Specific Strength

"I couldn't benching was terrible for trying to grow my pecs. It just my arms just overpowered all the frickin time," he says. "It's like, what the hell? And it took longer. You basically switch sports." Lifting strength depends on more than how much muscle you have; focus is a big part of powerlifting and so are auxiliary exercises that really don't mean shit anyhow. If they're going to do an exercise like a push down or a one arm tricep extension, you don't need to use 60, 70 pounds.
