The Effects of Expertise on Effective Leadership

Research by Amanda Goodall and colleagues that originally showed this is I think that sometimes we discount content expertise when we think about leadership. If you are leading the widget factory and you don't know anything about widgets, that can be problematic. But if you've had some experience, you know what experts to call on, right, to supplement your own expertise. That's such a fascinating mechanism for explaining the effects of expertise on effective leadership.
