A lot of coaching encouraged by motor learning theory which is try to categorize athletes together all the time and once take a one size fits all approach. You're never going to become expert unless you undergo an average of 10,000 hours of deliberate practice for example. Some people become chess masters after reporting 3,200 hours of practice and others it took 23,000 years of practice. There are these individual differences that will occur and emerge in different ways so I think it's really about needs it's on it's on a needs base for each athlete.
