The Effects of Endotoxemia on the Gut
Endotoxin is a lipopolysaccharide. So it's a lipid, sugar, short chain, carbohydrate molecule that is made as part of the outside of the cell wall of gram-negative bacteria like E. coli. It increases an inflammatory genetic pathway inside the cells and when this pathway is activated, the cell is producing more inflammatory chemicals than releasinginflammatory signals to its environment. The higher your insulin, the more accelerated heart disease you're having. Your body will take the calories when insulin is high and start packing them in your belly as fat.
