When we have a strong sense of self worth, we can be magnanimous. We still feel disappointed, but it doesn't affect us so deeply and completely. It's very common that children up to the age of six or seven are quote, sore losers. And how do we help them to be better losers? We accept where they are in this journey and we're interested in even how much you wanted to win that. That meant a lot to you. Yeah, you tried really hard and that's so disappointing. If we could validate that, we will help our child to feel,. yeah, that's what I felt... The process is different than what we might think.
