Ultimately knowing what you're going to read when you're Going to read it researching the books on a particular schedule and getting excited about them beforehand looking forward to them like a robust humanities education is key now let's end on another potential issue fear of expanding one's comfort zone I made the decision some years back to embrace slowing down and learn to relish great books slowly which was very liberating.
