The Effects of Nitric Oxide on Muscle Speed

An acute dose of dietary nitrate, you know, 10 times what you might get in a single day, normally, will increase maximal muscle speed and hence power by about 5%. Not everyone shows a beneficial response or seems to show a beneficial response, but about three quarters of everybody does. And interestingly, women seem to be more likely to respond than men.
