Timesuck with Dan Cummins

CHAPTER

John Calhoun's Mount Universe

John Calhoun's most famous experiment, the Mount Universe, will be created. He used albino house mice taken from a breeder specifically intended to prevent the spread of communicable diseases. In July of 1968, four pairs of mice were introduced into this universe. The population grew rapidly, doubling every 55 days as new young grew to maturity and had their own young. This began phase C, which Calhoun called the stagnation phase, lasting from day 315 to day 600. By this time, the different broods had clumped to one side of the pen, exhibiting the same behavior as Norway rats but without any coaxing from the design of the food distribution.
