Consumer spending is very cyclical. We saw a surge in discretionary spending in like the 2005-2007 timeframe before the financial crisis happened, for example. The 2020 and 2021 period had an unusually high level of discretionary spending. It's not something that will last forever. These are probably the times to look at some of these nice to haves.
