What Is the Relationship Between Gaming and Poverty?
The term slumming has been used since the late 1800s to describe middle class or otherwise affluent individuals going out to take a tour of what we might call a ghetto or an impoverished area. It describes this experience of people basically, you know, moving out and observing this what they perceive as the living and working conditions of the poor for entertainment. At the end of that experience, they return home and there have been no consequences for them. Even though there may certainly be consequences for the people that they're representing.
