The Story of Deganawida
A great leader of his own tribe tried to create a greater nation that would have a central council, the Iroquois Council. He visited several tribes and they agreed to create a collective council of elders to peace but not all the tribes would do it. And in fact the leader of one was so bent on war and so against what Deganawida was doing, that he went into the village while this man was going out trying to make peace and killed his wife and his seven children.
