The Initial Driving Force Behind Adaptation Is Neuromuscular
The adaptations are relatively quick to happen, as opposed to the cardiovascular ones. And we see it a little bit in practice where we take runners that are from like the Midwest or they don't have a lot of elevation gain or elevation loss. They get markedly better after just one or two weeks and they're able to handle the elevation gain and elevation loss of whatever particular race. The initial driving force behind those adaptations are neuromuscular.
