Seeing Causes and Intentions

Studies of brain responses have shown that violations of normality are detected with astonishing speed and subtlety. A vast amount of world knowledge must instantly be brought to bear for the incongruity to be recognized. The same response occurs when a male voice says, i believe i am pregnant because i feel sick every morning. Or when an upper class voice says, I have a ladge tattoo on my back. We can communicate by using norms which specify range of plausible values as well as most typical cases.
